the Down Syndrome Association of WI will have its
15TH ANNUAL AWARENESS WALK FOR DOWN SYNDROME
at the Milwaukee County Zoo
Hi Everyone - Jessica Here. Thanks for coming to check out my fundraising page! I wanted to share with everyone what a great year I have had! I just turned 4 in July and am having fun being a big girl! I just got glasses and have not gotten used to wearing them, but I am really good at hiding them. Last year I went to 3 year old preschool so I have one year of school under my belt. I am looking forward to moving on to the 4K class in fall. In my first year of school I really learned a lot - I found my voice. I now can let mom and dad know what I want - sometimes very loudly!! At the start of school I started wearing big girl underwear and now I am totally potty trained - both day and night. Mom and dad are super excited about not having to buy diapers! After school ended I had to have a little surgery to check my ears and my sinus - I had a lot of sinus infections in the winter, but now that the weather is warmer I am better. Over the summer our family took our annual vacation to Door County. I had a great time swimming and throwing rock in the water. I love Wilson's Icecream! I enjoy running, playing and following around my brother and sister. We all play on the swingset, play with the hose and swim in our pool. I am proud to be part of the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin's Annual Awareness Walk. The Awareness Walk is designed not only to help raise funds, but also to help raise awareness and promote inclusion, diversity and acceptance of Down syndrome, as well as, strive to guarantee access to a full life for all individuals with Down syndrome, their families and friends. They place priority on support and education, delivering quality programs and services, & maximizing available resources. People with Down syndrome are more LIKE the rest of us than they are different. They have feelings, talents and dreams just like everyone. They deserve to be accepted and appreciated for who they are and what they contribute to our lives and our communities.
Once again “Thank you” from our family for caring and for the support and we would like to express extreme gratitude to those who have donated in the past. Please consider sponsoring us for the Awareness Walk by making a donation in any amount. Your contribution will help raise money to help Jessica and all people with Down syndrome make steps toward a brighter tomorrow.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. If you prefer not to use this page, you can mail a check to
