Hi there, I am training (15 weeks!) to walk the Country Music half marathon (that's 13.1 miles y'all) and I am asking you to support my efforts by donating to Gilda's Club Nashville.
If you are visiting my page you probably already know my story and why I feel so strongly about Gilda's Club. But I am hoping that you will forward this to others who might also want to help.
For those who don't know, I am a 17 year survivor of breast cancer, diagnosed at age 33 and a stage 4 recurrence at age 35, followed by high-dose chemo and a transplant, I was told that I would only get a 3 year remission...well last year I CELEBRATED my 50th birthday!!
I have had many years over and above the expectations of biology. I feel very lucky, blessed and fortunate. It has been my great honor, joy and pleasure to meet many wonderful and special friends who also have walked the cancer path with me. I have had to say goodbye to far too many of them. So... I am still here. This walk, for me, is to honor the time I have been given and remember those who are no longer here to walk beside me.
As long as people have cancer, there is a need for Gilda's Club. I have seen with my own eyes the transformation in so many lives. By simply having a place to go and connect, Gilda's offers a light in the darkness and uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis. Please join me in my efforts to support Gilda's Club Nashville.
