Joe says,

"We sure are lucky, Phoebe, to have a safe and warm home with people who love and care for us.  Think of all of the dogs who do not have it so good, who have to sleep in the rain and cold, and who are hungry or sick and all alone, because nobody will care for them.

"Not long ago, you and I were abandoned like those dogs, and left to fend for ourselves.  I thank the people at the ROAR shelter, where they took care of us, gave us food and medicine, and gave us companionship until we found our forever home.  Did you know, ROAR has saved 2,000 dogs and cats!

"Now that we have our forever home, we must help those dogs and cats who are less fortunate than we are.  If we will just walk for our abandoned and neglected brothers and sisters, maybe the good people who care about animals will support ROAR, to find them caring homes with loving families."
