This is “Summer”, my daughter of 19 years.  Summer was diagnosed with Lupus at the age of 9, which is very uncommon for a child, and was very difficult to diagnose.  From this time to the present she lives life to the fullest, making everyday meaningful, because with this disease, you never know when it may come.  I have seen her suffer, and as a parent it breaks my heart when I’m not able to help her.

 

“Summer”  truly fits her name, fun, loving, bright, and makes you feel warm with her presence.  She has been one of the lucky lupus survivors as her flare ups are far in between.
