Hi, my name is Parker Brooks, I have Type I Diabetes. I was diagnosed when I was 5 years old and I am now 13 years old. I am very active in soccer and basketball. I have had many struggles with my diabetes over the years, a lot has improved since I have been on the insulin pump, less shots and better control. I have enjoyed my time at Diabetes Camp so much over the past several years. I learn so much when I go and I get to enjoy activities like horseback riding, swimming, zip line and fishing, just to name a few. I am surrounded by friends with Diabetes, many that have gone through similar struggles that I have. We have to check our blood sugar all the time, we have to take a break when our blood sugar drops, they understand. We are surrounded by doctors, nurses, dieticians and GREAT counselors! There is a Summer Senior Camp coming up in June, I could use your help and support to attend. Through your generous donations you help to make my life better, thank you for letting me share part of my life with you. I control my diabetes, I do not let it control me.
