This year I am undertaking an "Oconee Odyssey!"  Gee--can you tell I am an English teacher?  

Paddle Georgia  is sponsored by Georgia River Network, a nonprofit organization that works to protect Georgia’s rivers, promote clean waters, and educate people about responsible use of our water resources.

Paddle Georgia is an annual 7-day river trip for canoers and kayakers. This year--for my first outing--the group will travel the Oconee River from Athens to Dublin-- 106 miles!!

I love to be on the water, but this event is about so much more than folks like me who use our rivers for recreation.
