I'm going to keep this simple...
I fundraise for one very important cause...to cure cancer. Last year I raised nearly $5,000 in honor of my cousin Reid Sacco, and this year I'm going to try to surpass that. All of that money was used to fund Clinical Trials. This is huge and very different than most cancer fundraising - my aunt and uncle are using this money (that you will donate) to give adolescents options in their battles with cancer. Options that possibly save their lives or at the very least help them see a few more birthdays or another day to hug their parents and siblings.
About Reid: Every once in a while, the mighty do fall - and unfortunately cancer is a terrible disease that can take down even the mighty. My cousin Reid is a perfect example. His life had so much meaning, so much good, so much strength when he bagan his battle with cancer at the age of 18. He was the guy everyone wanted to be or be with. He had a bright future that would begin at Columbia University and who knows where it would have led him. You all know the story - after a LONG 2 year battle, cancer took this mighty person's life far too soon leaving my family no other option than to continue this battle for him and every other kid that is fighting for their lives.
Please make a donation to my ride this year - I will ride for my cousin Reid again and for all the kids who are a lot stronger than me fighting a battle they don't deserve to fight.
Thank you.
Patrice
PS - I also encourage you to ride with us and be a part of a great event.
