 Thank you for visiting my extreme Personal Fundraising Page for Special Olympics Virginia's Polar Plunge 2009. I am going to make my first "plunge" into the Atlantic Ocean at Virginia Beach on Saturday, February 7, to help raise money for Special Olympics.  I hope you will think about supporting me in this "cold" event.  Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.  You will receive a receipt if you donate online.  You may also donate by writing me a personal check (with Special Olympics written in the note) and I will add it to the donation list below.  You may also write a check made out to Special Olympics of Virginia and send it to me at my home address, 11416 Enchanted Woods Way, Fredericksburg, VA   22407.  It will be added to the offline total below.

My 16 year old son, Elliot, has been involved in Special Olympics for 2 1/2 years.  He plays soccer, basketball, golf, and does track and field events.  He is going to try the Aquatics team this month and hopefully, bowling in the near future.  We are so proud of his accomplishments.  His involvement with Special Olympics helps him build confidence, social skills and self esteem as well as strength, skill and coordination needed to participate in sports and life.  For more information about Special Olympics of Virginia go to www.specialolympicsva.org/.

Your donation will assist Special Olympics Virginia in reaching our total fundraising goal of one million dollars. 75% of your generous contribution will go directly to support the Athletes of Area 11 Special Olympics which proudly serves the Virginia counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford, Caroline and King George and the city of Fredericksburg.  That's 1 great reason for you to donate and 999,999 reasons for me to jump in the Atlantic Ocean in the height of winter!

I know that we are all facing some difficult times but Special Olympics would not be possible without the donations received from fundraising events such as this.  All Special Olympics athletes are able to participate in programs at no cost because of donations.  Your donation does not have to be a big one in order to make a difference.  Every dollar makes a difference!  If you decide to donate, your donation must be online or mailed to us by February 5 in order to count for the polar plunge.
