On Saturday, January 21, 2012, I have committed to “Take the Plunge” for the athletes of Special Olympics Florida by taking a dip into the iced down wave pool at Aquatica Waterpark @ SeaWorld in Orlando.
The cold that I will feel is temporary and may turn my entire body blue but the positive impact this will have on the lives of thousands of children and adults with intellectual disabilities will last a lifetime!
I’ve set my goal at $2000 and I need your help to reach it. I am not asking you to take the Plunge alongside me, but instead, I am asking you if you will make a donation to Special Olympics Florida on behalf of me participating in the 2012 Special Olympics Florida Polar Plunge. Any amount would be appreciated – it all goes to a wonderful cause and every little bit gets me that much closer to my goal.
In order to support my Plunge, click “Give Now”. This will give you the option of making a donation online via credit or debit card. You are more than welcome to pass this information along to any of your friends and family to promote the cause even further. Now, if you DO want to join me in the ice-filled water for this chilly event, you can click “Join this team” and I’ll look forward to comparing some blue skin-tone with you on January 21st.
Or, if you prefer to make an offline donation, please make your check payable to “Special Olympics Florida” and mail it directly to Special Olympics Florida, ATTN: Polar Plunge (1105 Citrus Tower Blvd, Clermont, FL 34711) or give me the check and I’ll pass it along. Please be sure to include my name or “Team DOC” so the staff will know where to credit the contribution.
Visit www.specialolympicsflorida.org/polarplunge to find out all the chilly details about this wacky winter event. Think warm thoughts for me as January 21st approaches. I will do my best to make my supporters proud!
