Hello Everyone!
It's that time of year again. Time to help support the greatest cause I have ever heard. Not only will I be plunging again with Team Bananas v. 2.0 I will also be participating in Kansas City's FIRST EVER SUPER PLUNGER!
SUPER PLUNGER: Friday Jan 30 @ 1:00pm at Longview Lake.
The Super Plunger is easy! I need to raise $5000 to do a 24-hour event where I take a dip into Longview Lake once an hour...EVERY HOUR. It's a massive effort to get the thrill of 24 plunges in one day and to raise an enormous amount of money to help so many athletes. My good friend (and fellow plunger) Emily Hackman convinced me last year to do one plunge and I was very reluctant. After several months of fundraising and a long time waiting, I did the Polar Bear Plunge 2008 and absolutely LOVED IT. When she told me about the Super Plunger, I couldn't resist.
I understand that $5000 is a difficult thing to raise but it allows me to be a part of something greater than myself. There is no other feeling in the world knowing that the time and money I raised will make the difference is so many athlete's lives. All I ask is that you make some form of contribution. $10, $20, whatever you can spare.
HOWEVER: To all businesses and large donators. I am offering free publicity to the top 24 donators by wearing a t-shirt with your logo during one of my many plunges. To sweeten the deal, I will wear the ABSOLUTE TOP DONATOR'S LOGO during my 24th and final plunge that will be held on Saturday Jan 31 when all spectators will be present for the Polar Bear Plunge 2009.
When (not if) I rasie the money, everyone is welcome to come out and see me scurry into and out of the (hopefully not) frozen lake and laugh every time I do it.
