Triathletes for Lake Placid
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I'm part of a movement of triathletes working to raise a combined $70,000 to help the people in the communities of Keene and Jay recover from the after-effects of Hurricaine Irene.
I have raced in Lake Placid seven times, and have trained there every year since 2004. I am commited to giving back to the people who make the region such a special place to visit and train.
While everyone was focused on the East Coast during the storm, these small communities in upstate NY were absolutely hammered by flooding. Roads, homes, even fire stations -- all completely washed away!
I personally am hoping to raise $500, but time is short...my deadline is event is next Sunday (9/18/2010)! My challenge: I will ride one mile for every $10 donated to this worthy cause...for a total of 100 miles.
I am focusing our funds on the Adirondack Community Trust (www.generousact.org), a local grant-making organization that has operated in the region for well over a decade. Currently they are meeting daily with local businesses & non-profits, making grants for flood relief. Yes, they rock.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thanks for helping me to make a difference through exercise!
