Hope Floats

In memory of Stephen Claeys

Patrick Claeys's Page

Hello everyone,

As many of you know, I lost my dad when I was 15.  It was unexpected and tragic, and difficult for me to understand.  He was a caring, intelligent father of 3 and his death affected everyone who knew him.  In the years following, several other very close loved ones also passed away unexpectedly.  Through these life changing events, I came to understand how difficult it can be for a child to grieve the loss of loved ones.  This charity is very near to my heart and I feel passionate about their mission.

Our team (Pirates of the Care-a-Bein'), along with teams of other amazing volunteers, is committed to raising funds for The Hope Floats Project benefiting Tomorrow’s Rainbow. We are raising $25,000 so that they can hire a much needed full-time clinician at Tomorrow's Rainbow to help the most desperate young children handle dibilitating grief.  A gracious donor has agreed to match these funds ($25k!) if we raise the money before the event on March 31st.

Please support this wonderful cause and make a donation! Any amount is greatly appreciated. Donations of $25.00 or more will sponsor a paper boat to be sailed down the Fort Lauderdale River in memory of a loved one at our Hope Floats Event on March 31, 2012. Feel free to send us a name, message, or photo to go on the boat.

Every donation made WILL make a difference. Here is a link to watch and understand the organization a little more in detail:

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts.

Thank you for your contribution and support!
