36th Annual Penguin Plunge
The mad dash is on! Time to don the Penguin garb and prepare for that annual trek to the sea on January 1st, 2012.
After 35 years in Jamestown, the official Plunge is moving to Roger Wheeler State Beach in Narragansett. That's Sand Hill Cove to you RI Oldtimers.
It will be exciting to try a new venue. Maybe some of my South County friends will stop by, on a nice day of course!
This will be my 25th Plunge and I'll turn 60 in March! I hope to raise $6000.00 to mark these milestones. Our overall goal is $100,000.00. Times are tough I know, but please dig deep.
IF I REACH THIS GOAL, I'LL GO IN TWICE, NO MATTER HOW COLD IT IS!!!!!
So, please consider "Doubling Down" if you can!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
I would also like to invite you to come down and see us go in the water. The plunge is attended by thousands of people and hundreds jump in every year. You will definately see some sights. If you have a "bucket list" and want to do something crazy for a great cause before you die, consider jumping in! You can tell people that you have done something that many would never dare (sort of how I started 25 years ago)!
Your donation won't keep us Penguins warm, but it will help raise funds for Special Olympics Rhode Island, a program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget --- forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Frigid and Rigid,
Penguin Excesior 2004
