The Greater Boston Food Bank, Inc.

Boston Marathon 2007

Paul's in the 2007 Boston Marathon

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

As many of you already know, I was recently added to the 2007 Boston Marathon "Mile for Meals" running team for the Greater Boston Food Bank.

The GBFB serves more than 517,000 hungry residents (yes, more than half a million!) across Eastern Massachusetts by providing healthy and diverse food options for local pantries and food banks, including 3 in Natick alone! In fact, my home town of Natick recevies almost 95,000 lbs. of food and 73,000 meals annually from the GBFB -- a wake-up call for those of us who think that 'hunger' can't be a significant local problem.

Additionally, the GBFB provides food to shelters, including the Pine Street Inn in Boston (www.pinestreetinn.org). And, in cases of national emergencies, e.g., Katrina, the organization is a critical "second responder," following the crisis management teams from the Red Cross and other emergency services as the needs for sustained support often exists for weeks and months beyond a crisis situation.

I appreciate your consideration of my request for your tax-deductible contribution. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts.

If you prefer to make a donation by check or money order, you may do so by making your check payable to the order of "Greater Boston Food Bank" and mailing it directly to me at: 66 School Street Extension, Natick, MA 01760. I will be collecting donations and delivering them to the GBFB during our planned team meetings ahead of the marathon.

You will receive a letter of acknowledgement for your tax purposes.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
