Team Sean is back!

First, a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of the wonderful people in our lives who supported our efforts in 2009.  You are amazing.  Sean was so very proud of this endeavor and of its goals.   He was always our biggest fan, our loudest cheering section and he will always be our greatest role model.                                 

This year, myself, Donnalee and Jim will be running the 2010 Boston Marathon in memory of my husband, Sean.  I lost my best friend and husband of sixteen years on March 20, 2009 to laryngeal cancer.  Sean was a hard working man, dutiful son, devoted father of three daughters, loving brother and caring friend.  Cancer has left his family, friends, and all those who knew him devastated. 

Unfortunately, most of us have been touched by cancer in one way or another; whether you've endured the battle personally, been a caregiver to a loved one during treatment, or gave your support to a friend, co-worker or neighbor.  A diagnosis of cancer seems far too common nowadays. 

Together, we will run the 114th Boston Marathon for Team Eye and Ear with the hope of raising funds to further head and neck cancer research.  We are looking forward to the marathon itself and reaching our goal in honor of Sean and all others who continue to fight and conquer their illnesses each day.
