In Memory of Ron Henderson
Ron Henderson was a dedicated worker in the fight against AIDS.
As a psychologist he was on staff at San Francisco General hospital when the country's first AIDS unit was established. He witnessed the passing of countless people with AIDS. He was a founder of the first organization for youth and AIDS also in San Francisco.
In addition, he was a civil disobedience activist and got arrested during various AIDS related protests in the late eighties and early nineties.
His last several years were spent in Provincetown married to his husband, Paul Hempel, minding his card and gift shop, Pulp, and playing with his dog. He passed away from liver cancer as a complication of AIDS in February of 2009.
