Support Us As We Hike
The Inca Trail, Peru, 2012
The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) has been trekking mountains since 2005, and has succeeded in supporting logistical and medical expenses for many children. In 2012, our ambitions have soared as high as the mountains we will climb! In 2012, our target is to receive enough support to provide the critical finances needed to complete the new pediatric cancer department at Al Hussein Hospital in Beit Jala, Palestine. Once completed, Al Hussein Hospital will be the first and only Pediatric Oncology Department in the public sector in Palestine.
Our brave and intrepid trekkers this year will be taking on the Inca Trail and reaching for the peak of Machu Picchu, 2430 metres (7970 ft) above sea level! A challenging trek indeed, but a walk in the park compared to the daily challenges faced by many children in Palestine who suffer in pain because mum and dad don’t have enough money to buy them necessary medicines or pay for life-saving surgeries.
Choose your trekkers from the list below and support them all the way to the top:
•Steve Sosebee, PCRF founder, an American living in Ramallah. Like any true leader, he takes on the challenge along with his teammates - and his daughter.
•Deema Sosebee, Steve’s 16-year old daughter, also living in Ramallah, will be following her father’s footsteps, in more ways than one!
•Iman Odeh who lives in Dubai. Iman is PCRF National Coordinator, a Palestinian-Emirati with a big heart.
•Dani O'Reilly, PCRF Administrator, hailing all the way from Canada and now living in Dubai. Dani will be the one distributing the smiles and cheer.
•Gamal Wahab, PCRF marathon runner, living in Abu Dhabi.
•Hazem Abu Khalaf, a Palestinian raised in Dubai and now living in Ramallah, and works at Abraaj Capital
•Mohammed J. Herzallah, lives in Ramallah. He works with the Palestine Investment Fund
You'd think that living in Palestine's difficult circumstances, under siege, shortages in almost everything we take for granted (water, electricity, heating, medicine .. feeling safe), would create stifled children. But, hope is very powerful, especially in children's spirits.
Help us keep this hope alive and kicking!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
