Shamrock Marathon: 26.2 for a Cure!
Thank you all so much for the amazing support you have shown! Unfortunately due to a stress fracture in my leg, my 26.2 for PanCan is postponed until March 21 at the Shamrock Marathon. I will carry your support with me through that time and thank you again.
Okay, so the fundraising is going so well that I am upping the ante... it is now 200 per mile or 5240. Thanks all so much for the support!!
As many of you know, my world and many others' was irrevocably altered in
March 2000 when my mother, Anne McGuinness died too young of Pancreatic Cancer. She was an amazing woman whose smile lit up a room and whose laugh could echo across a crowded hall. She dedicated her life to the education and enrichment of her own children as well as anyone that crossed the threshold of her classroom or her home.
Pancreatic Cancer is a devastating disease - it is one of the top five cancer killers and one of the least funded. There is extremely limited early detection of the disease and as such diagnosis is too often tantamount to a death sentence.
I am running the New York City Maraton to honor a woman that gave so much to so many and to raise awareness and funds for an organization dedicated to providing hope to those afflicted.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts.
Thank you so much for your continued support - and please spread the word to anyone you feel wants to hear it!
