Peggy Sagan's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my Bird-a-thon fundraising page and for your interest in Mass Audubon.
This was my first time participating in the Mass Audubon Bird-a-thon, and it was a fun and rewarding experience. During a 24-hour period starting at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, members of the Wellfleet Bay Bird-a-thon team fanned out to key birding areas across the state in an attempt to identify more bird species than the 26 other Audubon Sanctuary teams. We were also competing to see which Sanctuary Team could raise the most money for important conservation programs, and the Wellfleet team performed well on both counts.
Our 50 birders identified 210 bird species, placing 4th in the statewide competition (and only 4 species behind the 2nd place team). We have almost doubled the amount of money we raised over last year -- funds that will support critical ecological management, education, and conservation projects at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, a beautiful place that is close to my heart.
To those of you who sponsored me by making a contribution to the Wellfleet Bay Bird-a-thon team, THANK YOU! If you didn't get a chance to donate, there's still time to make a positive impact on the wildlife and environment of Massachusetts.
Thanks again for your support!
