DC to the Arctic Circle on a scooter!
Thank you to everyone who donated! I may not have hit the goal of $5000 for this ride but every little bit truly matters.
-----
15,000 miles across the entire North American continent... on a scooter?
I never gave brain cancer much thought, always thinking it was something that only really affected older people who had already led full lives to some degree, but I couldn't be more wrong. Over the last year I've watched a close friend struggle with it and wanted to do something to help out.
As an experienced adventurer, motorcyclist, and fan of nature and unusual experiences I have always wanted to ride a motorcycle to Alaska. This wouldn't be much of a sacrifice though - anyone can ride a motorcycle a few hundred miles a day for a few weeks. Instead, I wanted to do something a little more extreme in order to showcase how important this is to me.
In July, I will be leaving my home in Washington DC to head for Alaska on a slightly smaller two wheeled vehicle - a Genuine Rattler 110 scooter. Instead of just riding to Alaska, my goal will be to specifically go all the way to the end of the Dalton Highway into the Arctic Circle and finish up in the Arctic Ocean. Then I'll need to figure out how to get back...
My goal is to raise $5000, or $1 for every mile I thought the trip would originally take. Tell your friends about it, let's get this started!
