Details.
The California Council of the Blind is holding its second annual MuttStrut, a 2k/5K run walk/run, on September 8th, 2012 in Sacramento at the Capitol (west steps), Pasadena at Memorial Park, 85 East Holly Street, and in San Francisco at Civic Center Plaza.
Registration for this 2K/5K walk/runwill begin at 8 AM, with the event beginning at 9 AM.
For more than 75 years, the California Council of the Blind has been providing an array of services to persons with vision loss, including scholarships for college students, no-interest loans for employment purposes, mentoring and peer support, information and referral services, advocacy and crisis assistance funding. The Mutt Strut will not only enable the council to continue and expand these greatly needed services, but will provide a fun time for runners, walkers, and dog-lovers.
How can you help?
You can help in several ways. You can participate in the event as a walker, runner, or volunteer. To register, go online at www.firstgiving.com/CaliforniaCounciloftheBlind/mutt-strut-2012-san-francisco or call the council's office at 800-221-6359. To volunteer to help at the event call the CCB office at 800-221-6359. If you can't directly participate in the event, you can be a 2012 Mutt Strut supporter by sponsoring me and my dog Avalon. Sponsorships can be made online through my fundraising page. To donate just click the donate button below.
Because the California Council of the Blind is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation your generous donation will be tax deductible.More importantly, as a volunteer for that organization for more than 20 years, I can guarantee you that your donation will be efficiently used to enhance opportunities for Californians with vision impairments.
A big thanks for any assistance you can provide. Me and Avalon hope to see you at Civic Center Plaza on Saturday, September 8th.
Best wishes,
Peter Pardini and Avalon
