It's that time again! Time to raise the money that will bring us closer and closer to a CURE! The CURE that is so desperately wanted by so many.

Our journey with Rett Syndrome began almost nine years ago...I'd like to say it gets easier...it doesn't. With each passing year, Isabella is faced with more challenges...different challenges. And as she gets bigger...our challenges change too! Bigger carseats, bigger bed, and a heavier and longer load to carry!

We have been blessed with several good months! Her therapies are many: Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Hippotherapy, Music Therapy (added this year!), and Massage Therapy. Her schedule is full but the benefits are worth it! The results of last year's process of "serial casting" [they casted her ankle for a week at a time (for six weeks) and gradually increased the degree of ankle flexion each week] have been maintained with the therapies and daily stretches and exercises. So it looks like surgery has been put on a back burner! YAY!

She continues to be on four seizure medications, and has been major seizure-free for almost a year! She continues to have seizure-like episodes, which are apparently just be a "Rett-thing" we have to live with.

Her smile and laugh are still the highlights of our day. While we focus on making things as "normal" as possible, the truth is that our lives are far from normal...

That's why we continue to ask that you help us...that you help HER!  We long for the day that her struggles and challenges caused by Rett Syndrome will be nothing but a memory.
