Saving the Sea Turtles One Egg at a Time
"Sea turtles are very global, very migratory. They utilize habitat in many locations. This proves that we should have people working to protect coastal areas in general." -Dan Evans
I am a rising Senior at the Webb School in Bell Buckle, TN. This upcoming summer (June2010) I, along with my classmate, are planning to spend our summer vacation working off the desolate southern coast of Costa Rica in order to help preserve the nesting areas of sea turtles. By walking miles every day, and often hold long vigils throughout the night, we will be saving the lives of otherwise helpless baby sea turtles.
Costa Rica, being the fourth most important nesting habitat for Sea Turtles, is important in their quest against extinction. Every nest is vital: for every nest that is lost, the sea turtle population declines dramatically.
If action is not taken immediately, this sea turtle family could be lost forever. You too can help stop this horrendous extinction. Every dollar, every cent, you donate will be put towards this endeavor.
Even if you are unable to help fund our summer quest, thank you for taking the time to learn about my cause and the hardships these sea turtles are trying to overcome. Please spread the word. You can help us make a difference.
