Bringing New Music To Life, 2010-11 Season
Dear New Music Lovers!
The image to the left is the first page of an exciting new piece of music that we need your help to finish and stage.
Buffalo Nation (Bison, bison), by Jerome Kitzke, is one of the biggest commissions Present Music has ever undertaken. It will be a 50 minute piece of theatrical music with libretto, involving the community in the form of a twenty-eight member “sound effects chorus,” staged in an inspiring venue at the Indian Community School, called the Drum.
We need to raise $25,000 to complete this project and stage it to its fullest potential when it premieres on May 7th 2011.
We're sharing this as a prime example of the creative work you can count on from Present Music, including first-time Milwaukee appearances by composers and artists that most of the world is just finding out about. We also continue to expand our award winning education program, the Creation Project. Check out our new website for more details about the entire season.
Your gift allows us to do what Present Music does best—bring new music into the world by investing in the musicians, commissions and exciting visiting artists that turn our concerts into community events.
It's thanks to your gifts that Present Music continues bringing new music to life.
Thanks for your support!
