Friends, Romans, Countrymen lend me your ears.

My original note is below.   It is now post-PLUNGE and I have to say this was one of most memorable moments of my life.   I had a FANTASTIC time.  I got to say hi to several special Olympians as The Hulk.   I know several pictures were taken.  As soon as they find their way to me, I will get those that contributed a copy.   Thank you again friends and family for your mega-super-fantastic support !!!

Feel guilty because you didn't donate before the event?  Your money is still good and welcome and you can donate now.   It will still give you that warm feeling in your heart.

As many of you know one of my trademarks is that one will almost never see me wearing a winter coat.    In my youth I was frequently called Prestone Antifreeze.   Well, it is time for me to put that to the test. 

To help me in this insane endeavor. the Columbia Polar Bear Plunge, I need your support.    The Special Olympics is a great cause and these kids get a real blast out of the games.  If you haven't already, you should see the absolute joy on their faces!!  It is early in the year and I KNOW you have not used up your annual charity contributions, (and for those in my line of business), "don't you have a tax refund coming to you soon?".  

Consider what you would like to contribute to this good cause.   Either send me an email by the end of day Friday the 1st of February with your promise of your contribution and I will include it on my sheet I turn in on the day, -OR- you can visit the webpage and use a credit card and do it all online TODAY.  Just click on the SPONSOR ME NOW  link at the bottom of the page and give me a warm feeling inside for Saturday!

Your support is what is going to make the difference.   It is one thing to jump into near freezing water voluntarily (my good friend Jim has offered his support of a big shove should my drive waiver at the last moment -- and he had a big grin on his face when he said that!) -- but your contributions will help make this a great 1st time for this annual event here in Columbia. 

I just found out about this event, so I am not giving you much time to help, so I appreciate all of you taking time out of your busy life to do this before this upcoming Saturday the 2nd of February.

I plan on having a friend or coworker snap a pic or two of this infamous event.   If you send in a contribution and get me your email address, you will get a copy.  If you snooze, then you lose. 

In response to my challenges -- "you betcha, in for a penny, in for a pound".  This is a Polar Plunge, not just dipping my toes into the water.
