Croagh Patrick, "The Reek", is Ireland's holy mountain where Saint Patrick is reputed to have spent 40 days and 40 nights fasting and praying. Croagh Patrick has been a place of pilgrimage for the Irish faithful since the 5th century and is climbed annually by thousands of people.
To raise money for Special Olympics Chicago, your team will hike up the Pilgrim Path - a two hour climb ascending 2,500 feet - to the chapel which stands at Croagh Patrick's peak.
All climbers are asked to raise a minimum of $1,000 in contributions. Half of the funds you raise will go towards your trip expense and the balance will go to fund Special Olympics Chicago programs enjoyed by 5,000 athletes throughout the year.
