Dear friends and family!
Many of you know that this fall I started training with the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center. I now volunteer in the CAPS program leading workshops, sponsoring events, and spreading the word about BARCC's services.
I've found my work with the CAPS (Community Awareness and Prevention Services) team very rewarding in my effort to continue educating and fostering dialogue about sexual assault prevention and survivor support.
BARCC is the only provider of comprehensive rape crisis services in the greater Boston area. They provide free services to survivors, family members and the community. That is only possible through donations from people like you. I was recently surprised to learn that most of the money BARCC receives from the Annual Walk for Change come from small donations between $5-$50. Please help me reach my modest $300 goal by making a small contribution.
Here's how your donations can help:
$25 helps BARCC answer two hotline calls.
$75 pays for medical accompaniment to a hospital emergency room by a trained volunteer.
$200 supports the first three sessions of free counseling for survivors and their families.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Thank you so very much for your support, and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to get involved!
