The last two years have taken me to Vietnam to help bring dental relief to children living in abject poverty, raising a total of $11,505.44. This money, though a modest sum for the Western World standards have gone a long way in Vietnam. I am so grateful for all your contributions, because you helped me make a difference.
This year I am going to do the same in West Africa, in Sierra Leone. We all know about Africa, a country of scarcity in the midst of plenty, a place where people are starving while there are unused resources,  people having skills which are not being used.  In Sierra Leone the 10 year war with the rebels that ended in 2002 over diamonds left the country struggling with some 75% of the world's amputees, the rebels amputated hands, feet, arms and legs of children that are now teenagers or young adults. 
There are only five dentists for 5.700,000 Million people or 1,140,000 per dentist.
"The Sierra Leone Six-Year Molar Focus School" is a mission born about 10 years ago. 
This mission only has two full time employees (young ladies) who have been teaching oral hygiene with a free toothbrush in many schools. The children In these schools need treatment, restorations and extractions. These restorations and extractions need to be carried out by trained volunteer dentists. The Sierra Leone Six-Year Molar Focus School, like many other missions, can only operate when funds are available.
This year I will be volunteering. It is hard to get people to volunteer in this country because of its history of violence, and because of Sierra Leone being considered still relatively unsafe. For this reason too, I believe this project deserves all we can give.
In March I will be volunteering for two weeks, bringing not just my expertise as a dentist but also funds to help these children and the program, as well as basic things such as books and clothes.Please help me achieving my goal; every little donation will make a difference. Like my previous missions, I will completely sponsor my own trip as well as pay for all my personal expenses.
Every Dollar donated will go towards helping these children by treating them and towards educating the mothers to prevent tooth decay and unnecessary suffering
