Kathy Morrisson's Fundraising Page
Sometime last fall, I posted on facebook asking if anyone would like to head out on a girls weekend to the Oliver Half Ironman in Canada on June 6. I figured a little spa treatment in the lake, some sun on the bike and cleaning of the sweat glands on the run, would make for a perfect girls weekend. Seven incredible women stepped up to join me on this adventure. (One will be racing at another race but together we have trained).
It has been quite an adventure of scheduling, injuries, frustrations, joys, rain and sun but now we are heading into our last three weeks of training. After 22 weeks of dialed in training, we will be ready to rock our Half Ironman!
Why you ask? I am not always sure but one reason is that it keeps my healthy. It will help me live a long healthy life with a healthy heart. Heart disease is the number #1 killer in the United States and I do not think that is okay. One of the reasons for that number is lack of exercise and healthy eating. That is why I will be proud to race in my new uniform with Hope Heart Institute across the front that shows I am racing to fight heart disease.
Please help by donating to the Hope Heart Institute. The Hope Heart is dedicated to beating heart disease through education and research. Your donation will help save lives!
And thanks to the Half Ironman girls who have made this commitment well worth it!
