Your donation can be in any amount and can make a big difference. I have been a volunteer with a Davis-based organization called SAHAYA International. "SAHAYA" means help. Our family has been supporting many fundraising events for the past several years to help children that have been impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

DID YOU KNOW that worldwide HIV/AIDS epidemic has resulted in 15 million orphans and vulnerable children worldwide, with 6,100 being added to this number daily? The needs of orphans are basic -- health, food, shelter, education. Their hopes are like those of a child anywhere -- to be embraced with love and to have a secure future.

Hope Walks began with a passion to raise awareness of the growing number of children affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic and to enable children and students in this country to make a difference by providing them with education about this global orphan crisis and by giving them an opportunity to raise funds through a walk with their families and friends.

Global Strategies (http://www.globalstrategies.org/) for HIV Prevention is partnering with Davis-based SAHAYA International (http://www.sahaya.org/) and Cal Aggie Christian Association to raise awareness (http://www.hopewalks.org/davis/index.html) and funds to meet the social, spiritual and basic needs of orphans and to provide health-care for those infected with HIV. Funds raised through Davis Hope Walks will be provided to non-government organizations that are committed to meeting the needs of orphans and vulnerable children. Overhead cost for our organization is less than 1% since everyone is a volunteer and we all donate our time and services for this cause. You money will be used for a good cause with minimum overhead.
