Rat Running Team

What's up?!  For the past few years, The Rat has been involved with a group called the LADACIN Network.  Our annual Rat Rock Open Golf Tourny is for their benefit, and we always are involved with their Polar Bear Plunge in Manasquan.  (You might know them as Cerebral Palsy of Monmouth County.  They have programs to help people affected by Cerebral Palsy and other developmental disabilities.)

LADACIN is an amazing organization... They really have a positive effect on our community.  What's more, something like 98% of the funds collected by LADACIN go towards programs for their clients.  98%!  That's really incredible.

This year, Doug the Promorat and I have decided to organize the Rat Running Team to benefit the LADACIN Network.  We're running the half marathon at the New Jersey Marathon on May 1st, 2011.

We're being joined every day by WRAT listeners who are taking up our cause and challenge to run the 13.1 miles for this awesome organization.

Now, my history of running is really short... I mean up until recently, if I was running it was usually to catch last call at my favorite watering hole.  I tried running for exercise a few years ago, and I gotta tell ya... my knees hurt like hell and my lungs burned like fire!  It was awful.  So I quit.  Doug's running history is similar to mine, a few laps around a field in high school is pretty much it.

Here's where you come in:  Please make a donation to support the LADACIN Network and The Rat Running Team.  WRAT doesn't get a cent from your donation!

A half marathon might seem like small beans to guys like Lance Armstrong... but it's gonna take everything we've got to finish the run.  We've never, EVER, done anything like this before at The Rat!

Thank you so very much for your support!  Every bit, big or small, helps... whether you can give 5 bucks, 10 bucks, or a hundred... every bit counts!  So make yourself count!
