Caleb Zondervan's Fundraising Page
Hi, everyone!!! It's me, Caleb! On Saturday, October 10, 2009 I will be participating (also known as riding in a stroller!) in the one mile Buddy Walk at Millennium Park to support the Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan (DSAWM). Buddy Walks take place all over the world. Last year's event at Millenium Park, there were more than 1,200 people and raised approximately $76,000 (that's a lot!) to support the National Down Syndrome Society and local parent support groups like the DSAWM.
Even though my parents say I like to talk (a lot!), I won't go into too many little details here. If you want to learn more, you can visit the Buddy Walk website, www.buddywalk.org or the DSAWM website, www.dsawm.org. What I do want to tell you though is how the DSAWM has provided valuable support to my parents and me. After I was born, the DSAWM provided my parents with a New Parent Resource Packet, which helped reassure them that I will reach my milestones (and boy, have I been showing them!), and that I will lead a happy and healthy life! The DSAWM also helped me with area memberships to the pool, Bounce Party, and the GR Children's Museum. I love going to meet other families at the fun outings at the beach or at Meijer Gardens. I also get to play with kids my own age at different playgroups around town, I have so much fun!!! My parents also go to some boring classes that supposedly help me, and they learn a lot from other parents...but that is not fun for me...I already go to school in the summer...BOO!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure (but my Mom says you can feel free to contact her if you have any problems or would like to donate offline). Many thanks for your support and prayers -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Lots of Love,
Caleb
