3rd Annual Eugene Marathon 2009 Eugene,  Oregon
Training buddies: my dog Katie

Rebecca Dufek's Fundraising Page

Thank you for your interest in visiting my fundraising page!

This year I have chosen to take on less mileage but complete a BIGGER task which is to run the Eugene, OR half marathon on May 3rd! This will be quite a challenge as one of the side effects of NF2 has left me with double vision that occurs after 15 minutes of tense exercise such as running! Therefore, not only will the event be physically exerting but also mentally taxing while my brain fights to determine where to step next to keep from falling!

Although my run is in honor of May NF awareness month, it is also a tribute to the memory of our young friends who have been taken away by this disorder much too soon (21 year old Ashley Sexton - July 2007, our beloved support group webmaster Pete Brayman, age 33- December 26, 2008, and 17 year old Asa Singleton - January 25, 2009). Even though I am fortunate enough to be able to run, this is not the norm around the globe for those with NF2.  Continued research and funding is direly needed to prevent more unnecessary death and heartbreak.

Will you please honor me by contributing to NF research to stop tumor growth from destroying lives?

Donating online is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

With sincere appreciation,

Rebecca Dufek www.diverbeck.blogspot.com
