Faith Church has partnered with World Vison to support the work taking place in Karaba, Rwanda located on the continent of Africa. This is a great opportunity because Faith networks with people who live in Karaba and know what the specific needs of the area are. The workers in Karaba are able to train others that live in the city and help people become a self supporting village. Faith doesn't want to go in and provide a temporary "fix" to a problem, but would rather give people the tools necessary to be sucessful for life.
The Karaba Area Development Program (ADP) is located in the southwestern part of Rwanda, approximately 100 miles from the capital city of Kigali. Population is estimated to be 96,112. Karaba is an impoverished community, severely impacted by HIV/AIDS, struggling to provide for its estimated 3,750 orphaned and vulnerable children, of whom 2,705 are in child-headed households.
