In April 2008, my sister and I decided to take the plunge and complete a dream of running the Boston Marathon. We have grown up close to the marathon - from watching it on television, cheering on runners at the start line, and even meeting some of the elite runners from Kenya at Elmwood School. After setting this goal for ourselves, we knew we wanted to raise money for a charity with close ties to our home in Hopkinton. The Michael Carter Lisnow Center was kind enough to take both of us on their team for the 2009 Boston Marathon! As a preschool teacher, I was touched by all the care and support which is shown at the Respite Center. The Daycare Center and After School Care are two programs which are close to me. The children and other members of the Respite Center keep me inspired during this long period of training.  Your donation will go towards continuing to create a home away from home for children and adults with disabilities.
