Dear Friends,

Its all over the news, so you have probably heard about the devastating flood that has claimed the lives of 1,500 to date and displaced millions. It will also have long term effects on the fertility of the land, retarding rehabilitation after the flood has receded. More than a million people will have to build their lives anew with little or no help from the government.

In addition to rescue efforts to evacuate people stranded in flooded areas, there is urgent need for housing, medical supplies, basic clothing, etc. You can read some of the heartbreaking stories here and read details in the news here. 

I am asking you to sponsor my daily run. I run about a mile every day. My aim is to run at least 3 miles a day by December. If you help me raise funds to support rescue and rehabilitation efforts, I will also try to find a corporate partner that can match those funds. 

After some investigation, I have selected the Edhi Foundation as the beneficiary of the funds I raise. It is the most reliable and respected non-profit relief agency in Pakistan. It has a stellar reputation. I am confident that they will put the funds to good use.
