Walking for Mulligans
Dear Family and Friends,
What does the word “Mulligan” mean to you? Does it make you think of the second chance often afforded a golfer when his/her first shot was hideously muffed (or missed altogether)? Do you consider the word “Mulligan” to be synonymous with a “do over”?
For years, that was the thought Andrea and I shared when the term was used in conversation. This year however, the word “Mulligan” means so much more. Please view "Our Mulligan" pictured to the left.
Mulligan is what is commonly known as a “dumpster kitten”. He and his siblings were tossed away like garbage. Fortunately, he was discovered in the Johnston Landfill and brought to the Providence Animal Rescue League by the Animal Control Officer. There, he was examined by a vet, cleaned and fed by the staff and placed in our home where he will stay until he has gained enough weight and is suitably socialized to be adopted.
This year PARL will host their annual Pet Walk on Sunday, September 13th. Andrea and I will walk the 3.5 miles in support of PARL and the hundreds of “Mulligans” who pass through their doors annually. I am contacting you to request your support in the form of a tax-deductible donation to provide these animals with a “second chance”.
Sincerely,
Andrea & Renee
Thank you in advance for your generosity. We look forward to whatever support you can provide.
