A competitor in basketball, bowling, Nordic skiing, volleyball and softball, Catherine is in her fourth year as a Special Olympic athlete. Special olympics has opened a complete horizon of oportunities for her. She has had th eopportunity to meet athletes from across New York State, she has learned to be a team player, and she now encourages others as her coaches have taught her. She is most proud of all of the medals she has earned in Nordic skiing and volleyball, eight in total. She is also proud of the medals she has earned for Warriors on Wheels. To Catherine, the World Games mean that her team has risen to the top of their abilities and can now display those skills in a competitive setting against similar teams. Her training club has put in many hours of training and maintain weekly practices year-round. She works at the Center for Disability Services in the payroll department and has so for the past five years. While working for a local supermarket she received a Certificate of Achievement for hardwork and dedication to her job. She also received trophys in her bowling leagues. She stays active in her free time by bowling, skiing, playing volleyball and swimming.
