This will be the second trip to the World Games for Dubois as he attended the 1991 Summer Games in Minneapolis, MN for Unified Volleyball. In his 25 years as an athlete he has trained and competed in basketball, bowling, nordic skiing, volleyball, and softball. He says that Special Olympics has opened up a complete horizon of opportunites for him. He's had the opportunity to meet athletes from across New York state, the United States, and the world, and he has also had the chance to travel, meet new friends, and reaquaint himself with athletes he met at previous competitions. To Dubois, the World Games mean that his team has risen to the top of their abilities and now they can display those skills in a competetive setting against similar teams. His training club has put in many hours and they maintain weekly practices all year long. Going to China displays that his coaches are right when they say, "practice, practice, practice." He is very proud of the work he did at his previous job at the Albany ARC where he worked in the kitchen and worked on the crew that catered special events. He now works at My Linh Restaurant doing general cleanup and dishwashing. He was honored by the Albany County ARC as Employee of the Year in 2001 and was nominated and selected as the Albany County, NY Athlete of the Year. He enjoys watching the WWF and cheering on his favorite wrestlers, and watching sports on television.
