As an athlete for 13 years, Michael has participated in basketball, bowling, Nordic skiing, volleyball and softball. For the past 18 years he has worked at the New York State Department of Criminal of Criminal Justice as a clerk doing data entry and filing. He feels that Special Olympics has opened a complete horizon of opportunities for him. He has met many new people and stayed in shape through the sports training. The World Games means that his team has risen to the top of their abilities and he is excited to prove to his coaches that all of their training and year-round practices have paid off. In 1992 his former Volleyball team was recognized by Mayor of Schenectady, New York with a proclamation after they won the Gold Medal at the State Summer Games. He enjoys tennis, reading, watching TV and movies and bowling in his spare time.
