International Rett Syndrome Foundation fundraiser in honor of Melaina
*UPDATE 8/14/11: I've created this new page for the fundraising effort and changed the goal to reflect what is left over from the $1500 goal ($635 raised through July!!!).
Thanks to all of you who donated - the names can be found on the original fundraising website.
*UPDATE 7/11/11: WOW! In just three days, we've reached the original $500 goal with two and a half more months to go before the marathon!!! Let's raise the goal to $1500 - spread the word! Thanks to all who have already shown their generous support :)
Thank you for visiting the fundraising page to better understand and increase the chances of finding a cure for Rett Syndrome! This effort is coordinated in honor of my cousin and goddaughter, 3-year-old Melaina, who was diagnosed with Rett in 2011.
I'm running the Twin Cities Marathon on October 2nd and am asking friends and family for their support by pledging a financial contribution that will benefit the IRSF. You can pledge $1 per mile of the marathon (26.3) or any amount that you can comfortably manage - every dollar counts! Please consider helping me reach my goal to raise $500 by October - just less than 20 people / $26 pledge.
Donating through this website is simple, fast, and secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. For more information on Rett Syndrome, please visit the IRSF website at http://www.rettsyndrome.org.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
