Rhea & Tom Parsons Riker's 2010 Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting our 2010 Walk for Farm Animals fundraising page!
We are participating in the Walk for Farm Animals to help Farm Sanctuary raise awareness about the realities of factory farming. The annual Walk for Farm Animals helps fund Farm Sanctuary's education and advocacy efforts.
Farm Sanctuary is the nation's leading farm animal protection organization. Since incorporating in 1986, Farm Sanctuary has worked to expose and stop cruel practices of the "food animal" industry through research and investigations, legal and institutional reforms, public awareness projects, youth education, and direct rescue and refuge efforts. Farm Sanctuary shelters in Watkins Glen, New York, and Orland, Calif., provide lifelong care for hundreds of rescued animals, who have become ambassadors for farm animals everywhere by educating visitors about the realities of factory farming.
Last year, we exceeded our goal of raising $500. This year we know it will be harder because, as you probably know, it's been a very tough year for us. Between illness and hospitalizations and losing our home, we have been stressed beyond belief but we still want to try to make a difference for the animals who suffer, for those who cannot speak about their suffering the way we can. Even if Rhea is unable to physically walk, she will complete the walk in a wheelchair. We hope that you will help us to help the animals.
We hope you will make a pledge of support for farm animals in need by making a donation for our participation in the 2010 Walk. Or join our team and walk with us!! We would love to have you join us!
Thank you so much, Rhea and Tom
