On May of 2009 we were Blessed with our little angel "Rianna Maria",she is the youngest of our four daughters. Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for the true angel he blessed me with, of all the mommies in the world he chose me as the fortunate one to raise and share my life with this little girl.

Although I knew from the moment she was placed in my arms that she was special never did I imagine how special Rianna really is. After a year and a half of numerous tests, procedures and endless Dr. appointments on May of 2011 we got the diagnosis of RETT Syndrome. Rett syndrome is a devastating neurological disorder seen almost exclusively in females. It is the leading genetic cause of severe impairment in girls. It is
the only autism-spectrum disorder with a known genetic cause. Little girls with
the disorder are born without any signs of the syndrome. By the age of 2 years
old, loss of language and motor skills are prominent; breathing, digestion, and
sleep patterns are dysfunctional; scoliosis begins; teeth grinding occurs; and
seizures develop. Rett syndrome leaves its victims profoundly disabled,
requiring assistance with every aspect of daily living. These beautiful little
girls, from the outside, look like perfect angels. However, Rett syndrome takes
over and robs them of a healthy life. A girl is born every five hours with Rett
syndrome

The money from our strollathon goes to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation,
which uses 96% of all donations for research to find a cure for Rett Syndrome.
A study was recently funded that suggests that the symptoms of Rett syndrome are
reversible! With this news, now more than ever, your support is needed!

I am grateful to say that as Rianna's parents we have been Blessed with God's Amazing Grace and with Faith in knowing that God does not make mistakes and Rianna's life here has a purpose and as her mom I will do all in my power to see that her purpose in life is full-filled to the fullest.....

We don't know what tomorrow will bring we are just grateful and thank God for today and through all her struggles ........"Rianna smiles" and that's what we thrive on!!!!
