Since 1977, Casa Myrna, a Boston-based nonprofit, has been delivering solutions to end dating and domestic violence. Casa Myrna has three shelters in Boston for women and children made homeless by domestic violence, and a range of supportive services including legal advocacy, housing search assistance, financial literacy education, parenting and support groups and individual counseling. Their goal is to end the cycle of abuse by helping victims and survivors build safety, self-esteem and sustainable self-sufficiency. In addition to services provided in person, Casa Myrna operates SafeLink (1-877-785-2020), the only statewide toll-free domestic violence hotline in Massachusetts. They are also actively engaged in raising awareness and providing education on this serious issue, with workshops for groups ranging from teens to first responders and law enforcement personnel. Casa Myrna is the only nonprofit in Massachusetts running statewide, mass transit ad campaigns.
