Running for Tyler!
Family and Friends,
On January 18th 2009 I will be running in the Houston Chevron Marathon. I have joined the Organization for Autism Research (OAR) runner's team. I am asking you to consider sponsoring me as I challenge myself in what will be my first marathon.
Most of you know that Autism is a subject that is close to my family. My 6 year old son Tyler has autism. He is a handsome, energetic, loving little boy. He works hard everyday overcoming his disability. I feel blessed and honored to have been given the task of being Tyler's dad. He is an inspiration to me each and everyday.
Autism is a life long disorder, affecting a child's cognitive, communication, and social skills. No one knows what causes autism but the rate of children affected by it is skyrocketing. In the United States alone, 1 out of 150 children has been diagnosed with autism.
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.
Thank you to Goodrich Petroleum who has graciously offered a matching gift.
Thanks,
Rick
