OUR PROJECT

The Longitude Uncaste India Campaign promotes survival, empowerment, and equality for families in the Dalit (Untouchable) villages of Kothasatram and Indiranagar in Andhra Pradesh province in Southern India.  The plan in-turn is to make a big impact on many other villages in India struggling under caste discrimination.

OUR STORY

Michie and I have been involved with Longitude's life-changing projects in India since just after the Asian Tsunami of 2004 devastated so many communities there. The hardest hit were the Dalit (Untouchables), who even today are still struggling just to survive.

A donation of $1/day will provide milk & eggs for THREE kids everyday AND provide enough medicine to keep a WHOLE FAMILY healthy.

Our personal goal is to raise enough money each for a full year of support...$365x2=$730. Please consider making a life-sustaining contribution and sharing this website with others interested in Connecting Cultures and Changing Lives with us.

Even a little bit will help. Please consider making a $7, $30 or even $365 donation to provide life-giving support for a week, month, year or longer.

LONGITUDE UNCASTE INDIA CAMPAIGN

Our vision is to get each village to a place of self-sustenance and on the road to being free from oppression in 5-10 years. The plan has three equally important parts:

Survival – Shelter, Food, Medicine

Empowerment – Farming, Trades

Equality – Political lobbying, Raising awareness, Seeking justice

So far, the Longitude Uncaste Campaign has been successful!

Families are settled into their new homes, the kids are gaining strength from all the milk and hard boiled eggs they've received from the Children's Feeding Center, the medical supplies provided by KI-Care are helping to keep everyone healthy and overall the spirit has truly changed for the better in the KI villages.

To bridge the gap between now and then and keep the program in KI from collapsing, we need to raise $12K. This will keep the children's feeding center and the health care program alive for another year. Some of the money has already been raised, but we need $9,698 more.  Please, help pave a bright future of prosperity and empowerment for these people and play a significant role in changing the face of history!
