BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF ATHENS COUNTY is hosting its Bowl for Kids' Sake fundraiser in Athens, Ohio, and Ohio University's student-run college rock authority ALL CAMPUS RADIO NETWORK is extending its claw to this event.

Bowling for Kids' Sake is all about raising awareness and funds for the BBBS of Athens County. Did you know that of the children mentored by BBBS of Athens, 85% come from families that are eligible for TANF (cash) assistance, 50% have had an incarcerated parent at some point, and 30% are in foster care or have cases with Athens Co. Children Services? Being a mentor in these kids lives is not just about moral support, but shifting their lives to a brighter, more successful future. None of this can happen without funding from the public.

Don't you remember those childhood days spent under the clouds? Do you remember that certain simple act of kindness that took your out of the clouds and into the sunlight? Whether it's a walk in the park, mid-day ice creams, or just lending an ear, having a mentor is life changing.
