Rob Jeter's Swim for Life Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the 18th Annual Maryland Swim for Life!
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now estimate that more than one million Americans are living with HIV. Up to one-third of them do not know they are HIV-positive. Nationwide, someone under the age of 25 is infected with HIV every 30 minutes. (source)
We NEED YOUR HELP!
I am planning on swimming my first open water competitive swim in support of HIV/AIDS charities. I'm going for the 3 mile distance, so I need your help and encouragement! Swim for Life is a USMS sanctioned open water event. See here for a map of the swimming route.
Proceeds from Swim for Life support a number of small local organizations assisting individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as the Chester River Association, which advocates for the health of the Chester River.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Your contributions will make a difference to those families affected by this epidemic.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Swim for Life is sponsored by the DC Aquatics Club. DCAC is one of the largest United States Masters Swimming teams and is a 501c(3) organization. Your donation to this cause may be (probably is, but I'm not a tax expert) tax-deductible.
