• 884 million people in the world do not have access to safe water. This is roughlyone in eight of the world’s population. (WHO-UNICEF)

• 1.8 million children die every year as a result of diseases caused by unclean water and poor sanitation. This amounts to around 5000 deaths a day. (UNDP)

 

A team of 12 missionaries from Windwood Presbyterian Church and several other Houston churches will go to Nicaragua on March 12, 2011 to install a clean safe drinking water well in a community that has unsafe water.  During our one week trip we will also teach hygiene, sanitation and disease prevention to the women and children of the village.  Finally, we will share the gospel with the people of the community.

The cost for the well is $5,000.  We would like to raise enough money to fully fund this well.  We would be grateful for your support towards our goal as well as your prayers for the safety and success of the project.
