5th Annual NW Loop August 11th - 14th
SORRY BUT WE ARE DOWN TO 15 XL T-SHIRTS AS OF 8/15/11, IF YOU DONATE THERE MIGHT NOT BE ANY LEFT.
It's that time again and it looks like this is going to be the best Loop yet! We are changing our route this year to experiance more of the great northwest by heading down the Oregon Coast. Our first night will be Newport, OR. We will then head south down the coast and then cut across to Crater Lake before we head north to Bend, OR for our second night. The third day will be a short run to The Dalles American Legion Hall for a reaquaintance with one of our biggest supporters. We will then be on our way to Ellensburg, WA for the last night.
We will start again this year at the Fireman's Pub in Lake Oswego www.firehousepub.net where we will be able to enjoy some BBQ hamburgers donated by the Portland Firefighters Union Local 43 before a nice leisurely ride to the Evergreen Museum for a photo stop. We will finish the day in Newport, OR. We are working on getting a classic car club to help us gather a crowd to help sell more t-shirts and spread the word on SOWF.
Our second day we will ride down the coast to Coos Bay, OR and turn onto HWY 42 to Crater Lake NP. We will take the short version of the lake loop and check out the NW rim before heading north onto HWY 97 to Bend, OR.
Our third day will be an easy jaunt up HWY 97 to The Dalles American Legion Hall for some warm camaraderie and cold beverages before finishing the loop in Ellensburg, WA.

Special Operations Warrior Foundation Information
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation mission is devoted to providing a college education to every child who has lost a parent while serving in Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps Special Operations during an operational or training mission. The forces covered by the Foundation are some 50,000 military special operations and support personnel stationed in units throughout the United States and overseas bases.
The Warrior Foundation is currently committed to providing scholarship grants, not loans, to more than 760 children. These children survive over 600 Special Operations personnel who gave their lives in patriotic service to their country, including those who died fighting our nation's war against terrorism as part of "Operation Enduring Freedom" in Afghanistan and the Philippines as well as "Operation Iraqi Freedom." To date, 143 children of fallen special operations warriors have graduated from college.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation also provides immediate financial assistance to special operations personnel severely wounded in the global war on terror. Once notified of a special operations soldier, airman, sailor or Marine hospitalized with a severe injury, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation immediately sends funds to the service member (or his/her designated recipient) so the family and loved ones can immediately travel to be bedside.
To date, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation has provided over $700,000 to wounded special operations personnel.
